Definition and Usage

The ended event occurs when the audio/video has reached the end.

This event is useful for messages like "thanks for listening", "thanks for watching", etc.


Browser Support

The numbers in the table specify the first browser version that fully supports the event.

Syntax

In HTML:

<audio|video onended="myScript">Try it

In JavaScript:

audio|video.onended=function(){myScript};Try it

In JavaScript, using the addEventListener() method:

audio|video.addEventListener("ended", myScript);Try it

Note: The addEventListener() method is not supported in Internet Explorer 8 and earlier versions.
