Definition and Usage

The disabled property sets or returns whether a slider control should be disabled, or not.

A disabled element is unusable and un-clickable. Disabled elements are usually rendered in gray by default in browsers.

This property reflects the HTML disabled attribute.

Internet Explorer Firefox Opera Google Chrome Safari

The disabled property is supported in all major browsers.

Note: The <input type="range"> element is not supported in Internet Explorer 9 and earlier versions.


Syntax

Return the disabled property:

rangeObject.disabled

Set the disabled property:

rangeObject.disabled=true|false

Property Values

Value Description
true|false Specifies whether a slider control should be disabled, or not
  • true - The slider control is disabled
  • false - Default. The slider control is not disabled

Technical Details

Return Value: A Boolean, returns true if the slider control is disabled, otherwise it returns false

Find out if a slider control is disabled or not:

var x = document.getElementById("myRange").disabled;
