Definition and Usage

The min property sets or returns the value of the min attribute of a month field.

The min attribute specifies the minimum value (month and year) for a month field.

Tip: Use the min attribute together with the max attribute to create a range of legal values.

Tip: To set or return the value of the max attribute, use the max property.

The min property is supported in all major browsers.

Note: The min property is not supported in Internet Explorer 9 and earlier versions.

Note: The <input type="month"> element is not supported in Internet Explorer or Firefox.


Syntax

Return the min property:

monthObject.min

Set the min property:

monthObject.min=YYYY-MM

Property Values

Value Description
YYYY-MM Specifies the minimum month and year allowed. Explanation of components:
  • YYYY - year (e.g. 2011)
  • MM - month (e.g. 01 for January)
